HEROES!!!

Halloween was fun! A bunch of us got together to decorate a car for the Trunk-or-Treat at DFCC and we decorated it like Charles Deveaux's rooftop and then we all dressed as characters from the show. A part of me wishes there had been more of us, so that more characters could have been represented...but then there wouldn't have been room for all of us in the group picture. So...oh well. I was Charlie Andrews, the waitress from Midland, TX who died in season 1 (killed by Sylar for her ability to remember EVERYTHING). I think I did a good job on the costume. and it only cost me about $8 to put it together...so...that's awesome.

...here's Charlie: .......................................and here's me:

Not too bad, huh? And we made a big oval thingy and then put up some fake brick to make it look something like this...

I think it came out nicely...

And the best part was taking a group picture...something dramatic...like this...

Only better!
*from left to right (sort of): Sarah as Maya, Cory as Sylar, Luna as Peter Petrelli, me as Charlie, Loafy as Officer Parkman, Paddy as Mr. Bennet, and Hadley as Isaac Mendez

Good times...no, scratch that...Great times!
I hope you noticed the awesome pumkins carved by Cory. You can see better closeups of them if you follow the Cory link in my friends section off to the right.

Also, we did something not so dramatic :-)

overall, it was a fun night! i would even go so far as to say it was better than the chicken kick.

The baby is almost 2 feet!

at about 5:00 this morning, Aunt Vicki opened my bedroom door and said, "8pounds, 8 ounces, 21 inches long, blond hair........well.......not much hair. but, blond."

yes, folks, she was talking about our friend, Curt's brand new baby boy born early this morning in the Anaheim area (in a hospital). Curt, surprisingly sounded wide awake, and not at all tired on the phone this morning after a long night of...you know...giving moral support, or whatever it was he did.

Curt: Amers!
Me: Hey Cuz! What's going on?
Curt: Oh you know...a little of this, a little of that.
Me: You have a baby!!
Curt: Yes, my friend. and you have a second cousin.
Me: Whatever will I call him?
Curt: He will answer to the name, "Little Cousin"

Maybe you do not realize, dear cousin, that when someone is awakened in the early morning hours to hear the news about the new child, they are owed certain information regarding said child in exchange for being nice to you on the phone at said hours. information, such as weight, hair color, and NAME to NAME a few. it was cute that you kept the name a secret. but once the kid is out, it is no longer cute. so...it better be good. also, congratulations!

Go Ducks!

First of all, a big welcome back to Curt and John.

Second of all, Curt, I live with your mom and dad. And what I don't understand is, why did you move out? There's no better life than this one. Seriously. Did your mom leave you cute little notes all the time too? Or does she just like me better? I probably already know the answer to that.

And Thirdly, many of you know that I have considered my job at Ruby's to be a ministry for a long time and you'll be glad to hear that Miguel, who cooks at Ruby's, came to the Spanish language service at DFCC a couple weeks ago for the first time, and I hope not the last. so that's cool.

Otherwise, I'm getting really worn out these days. I think I'm spreading myself too thin and it's starting to get to me. Maybe it's time to cut some big stuff out of my life for a while.

I put your picture away...

the neighbors have been playing "Picture" by Kidd Rock and Cheryl Crow on repeat at a pretty high volume for at least the last 40 minutes...probably longer. i do not know what to do.
